How to Take a Screenshot on Mac? Here is All You Need to Know

When you have your new MacBook, you probably don't know how to take a screenshot on macOS which is quite different from Windows system. However, no matter we are doing the work or study using the Mac, we often need to take screenshots. Here we share you with some useful tips on how to take a screenshot on a Mac.

 

How to Take a Screenshot on a Mac? Use these combination keys below


1. Command-Shift-3 It captures a screenshot of your entire screen.

 

It will just take the screenshot of your entire screen

 

2. Command-Shift-4

 

You may find that your cursor becomes a crosshair, which you can drag to select a portion of your screen to capture. After you select the part you want, release the mouse button or trackpad to take the screenshot.


3. Command-Shift-4, then space bar, then click on a window Hitting the space bar turns the crosshair into a little camera icon


You can move over any open window. Click on your desired window to take a screenshot. A screenshot captured by this method features a white border around the window with a bit of a drop shadow.


How to Take a Screenshot on macOS Mojave?

With macOS Mojave, press Shift-Command -5 on your keyboard to see all the controls you need to capture still images and record video of your screen. Use these onscreen controls to select whether to capture the entire screen, capture a window, capture a selected portion, or record a video of the screen. (To capture the Touch Bar, continue to use Shift-Command-6.)

 

 

As a Mac user, you may find your Mac is full of duplicated photos which are stored in different files with different names. Due to its system feature, Mac will create the duplicate copies automatically without any reason when you upload photos to your Mac or when you take the screenshot. Since Mac doesn't have a built-in feature that allows you to locate and remove duplicate photos, you need to search the whole Mac hard drive for duplicates and remove them from your Mac manually.

 

How to Find and Remove Similar or Duplicated Photos on Mac easily?
